May 10, 2009 - hah, brings back beatiful memories. i still haven't found a better game than preppie! and preppie 2. for me that's what computer gaming is about. i remember though i used to prefer the sequel when i was younger (maybe for the cutscenes :) ) but now it's the original all the way. brilliant design and color palette, and memorable tune.i'm still having a go, never managed to get past level 8 though.

Aug 5, 2008 - The music is compiled of two or three old songs, from the early 1900's. I recognize "While Strolling Through The Park One Day", and "Down Among The Sheltering Palms". It was a great idea to use those songs!

Jul 22, 2008 - One other thing: when you get up to around level 10, the buggies and canoes are about half as wide. I think the speed was around where it's at at level eight. Well I'm going to keep trying! not going to let my age (49) destroy a great memory! Not if I can help it!

Jul 22, 2008 - Well, this is a treat A great game Preppie! I had this with the Atari 400 (cassette version) It used to take around 30 minutes to load! Well, I have the emulator today with an Xbox wireless remote (vast improvement over the 80 clunky joysticks). This is interesting, if I remember correctly my highest score ever was around 70k, so I went up to around level 11, and that's where the levels ended! Let me tell you though: you've got me beat today! ha ha! Today, I cant even get past level 5!

Sep 7, 2007 - wow, honestly cant remember, but to be honest, I think you made it farther than I ever did. Were there any other special additions after level 8? Love the expanding ran-over effect too, heh.Preppie 2 was a pacman type clone wasnt it? You had to paint the screen full and avoid the lawnmower guys again. Thats if I remember correctly.I miss the atari 8 bit days. Good times. In the merry merry month of may!

Sep 7, 2007 - Yes, that tune for Preppie! is simply delightful. Can you remember how far you got on Preppie!? I still like having the odd go, trying to get to a higher level, but it takes over ten minutes to get as far as I have...

I was hoping to get past level 8, but it ain't easy... Less
